In March and April this year, two chambers of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda acquitted two accused charged with sexual violence. In the first case (Trial Chamber in Gatete), the court held that the charges were not proven by the Prosecutor. In the second case (Appeals Chamber in Renzaho), the court reversed the accused Renzaho’s conviction for rape charges.
