The Survivors Fund (SURF) and Foundation Rwanda are giving organized readings of the testimonials of Rwandan survivors of the genocide to raise awareness of their plight 15 years on and to stand in solidarity with them. The readings of testimonials is being done in different places all around the world in April 2009. For more information and/or to stage an event yourself, visit the Reading of the Testimonies website.
Rwanda Remembered is a charity initiative set up primarily to raise awareness and commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Rwanda genocide through a series of concerts. The money raised from Rwanda Remembered will be directly donated to Comfort Rwanda, who liaise with the indigenous charities in Rwanda to ensure that needs are met. The aim of this initiative is to provide practical support for survivors by providing food supplies, support for orphan headed households, providing goats and cattle for survivor communities, and trauma counselling. For more information, visit the Rwanda Remembered website.
